IRIS is the UK's largest private software house supplying business management solutions to over 60,000 customers, from start-ups to large organisations. Event Connections have supported IRIS for a number of years, providing on-site check-in and badging for their IRIS World events. The 'IRIS World' conferences offer industry contacts and customers an opportunity to hear the latest industry news and software developments.
IRIS were looking for a robust check-in system that would not only give them more than 'badges on a table' but would also offer the opportunity to track the sessions that delegates attended. They asked Event Connections to provide an on-site check-in and badging solution.
IRIS were expecting delegates to arrive at the venues within a relatively short timeframe. As it was a free to attend event it was anticipated that there would be a large number of changes and substitutions as colleagues might replace those who had originally booked.
We provided a team of experienced delegate management staff, and our networked system, complete with badge printers. Delegates were checked-in and badged on arrival with changes being dealt with quickly and discreetly.
All badges contained a code indicating which sessions the delegate had registered for as well as a barcode which was scanned each time the delegate entered a session.
Exhibitors were offered the chance to hire barcode readers so that they could scan badges and quickly obtain the details of interested parties.
Scanned data was available to both the IRIS World organisers and the exhibitors at the end of the event day meaning that they could immediately conduct follow up marketing.
